Terms & Conditions
1. Enrolment and Admissions
1.1. Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of a completed registration form or registration through the ClassForKids platform.
1.2. Students will be placed in levels (e.g., YCT, HSK 1-6, or Heritage Learner tracks) based on an initial assessment by the School. The School reserves the right to move a student to a different class if the level is deemed inappropriate for their progress.
2. Fees and Payment
2.1. Tuition Fees: All fees must be paid in full for the term ahead, following the first free trial session, unless an instalment plan has been formally agreed upon in writing.
2.2. Payment Methods: Payments should be made via the online payment link provided in your welcome email, or via Bank Transfer. Please use the student’s full name as the payment reference.
2.3. Exam Fees: Fees for external examinations (e.g., HSK, HSKK, YCT) are not included in the standard tuition and must be paid separately according to the testing centre’s deadlines.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
3.1. Cooling-off Period: Parents have the right to cancel within 14 days of the initial booking for a full refund, provided the course has not yet started.
3.2. Withdrawal: If a student withdraws after the term has started, no refund will be issued for the remaining weeks unless agreed in writing with the School.
3.3. Trial Lessons: The first lesson of the term is a free "Trial Lesson", after which the full term fee becomes payable (subject to current school availability).
4. Lesson Delivery and Attendance
4.1. Absences: No refunds or credits are given for lessons missed by the student.
4.2. School Cancellations: In the event of teacher illness or force majeure (e.g., extreme weather), the School will attempt to provide a substitute teacher or organise a make-up session. If a session cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rata credit will be applied to the next term.
4.3. Public Holidays: Lessons typically do not take place on UK Bank Holidays or during specified Chinese Festival breaks, e.g., Lunar New Year. A school calendar will be provided in your welcome email.
5. Student Conduct and Homework
5.1. Preparation: Chinese language acquisition requires consistency. Students are expected to complete weekly character practice (Hanzi) and homework assignments, where applicable.
5.2. Behaviour: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or disruptive behaviour. The School reserves the right to exclude students who consistently breach these standards without a refund.
6. Safeguarding and Child Protection
6.1. Pick-up/Drop-off: Parents must ensure students are dropped off and collected promptly. The School is not responsible for students outside of designated lesson times.
6.2. Emergency Contact: Parents must provide at least two valid emergency contact numbers and disclose any relevant allergies or medical conditions.
7. Media and Photography
7.1. The School may occasionally take photographs or videos of students during lessons or cultural events (e.g., Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations) for promotional use on the School website or social media.
7.2. Opt-out: Parents who do not wish their child to be photographed must notify the School office in writing.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1. The School is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises.
8.2. While we strive for the highest academic standards, the School cannot guarantee specific exam results or fluency levels, as progress depends significantly on individual effort and home practice.
9. Changes to Terms
9.1. The School reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. Parents will be notified of any significant changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
